"Panaghiusa" is a Cebuano term that signifies Unity. It aims to address the issue of plastic and organic waste, which is a widespread problem in the world today. Users of this application can turn their garbage into incentives; the more they give, the more interesting the incentives they receive .
We present the three most important features of the app that serve as the foundation of our goal of reducing and reusing plastics and composting organic or food waste.
Users can scan the plastics they contributed using their phone camera, and the app uses machine learning to determine what type of plastic they contributed.
The app will provide users with tips and tricks through YouTube videos or tutorials on how to recycle their plastics as well as compost their organic waste.
Users who contribute contributions may earn points, which may then be converted into rewards.
The Panaghiusa app is a Google Solution Challenge 2022 project that aims to solve or target one or more of the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). The app chooses SDG Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, one of the goals of which is to reduce waste generation, such as plastics, through recycling and reuse, and to which the app aims to connect its features and goals.
The Panaghiusa App have its Web dashboard where it is only accessible to an admin. It can retrieve some data through the app, reports of to be confirmed contributions, and display user details.
The team consists of aspiring Mobile and Web developers, as well designers. The team has aspirations to help their community even while still in college and be a student developer. They build technologies that can help their community's lives easier and improve their knowledge and skills in the technological world.
